I want to apply for term life insurance but I do not want to take an exam! Can I apply for insurance without taking an exam?

Yes you can. There are insurance companies out there that offer whats called Instant Issue Term Insurance. Usually you can fill out an online application and get approved in just a few minutes. The rates are quite a bit higher though but it's the quickest and easiest way to get life insurance.

Yeah, I tried to apply for one of those instant term deals and I was declined because I answered yes to having diabetes. Yeah its a serious disease, but I have it so well under control. My doctor even said I will live just as long if not longer than the average human being.

Does anyone know of any other conditions that would automatically disqualify my from getting an Instant Issue policy? How do I know if I am a good candidate for that type of policy?

I tried to apply for an instant issue policy and answered yes to having cancer. It was several years ago, but I was still declined. I think you have to have a pretty clean health history in order to be approved. I think they check your medical history electronically too just to make sure you are not hiding anything.

I was to old. Blah! The age cut off is 35 for a policy without an exam.

I think it all depends on if you are looking for a deal or your time is more important to you. Not completing an exam means a higher premium.

The exam isn't to bad actually, it took about an hour. The exam company is portable so an examiner can come to your house or your work to complete it. This was really nice for me because I am a stay at home mom and couldn't get away from the house.

I do not mind spending an hour to take an exam, but I always get very nervous and have even fainted a few times when I have blood drawn. Is there any way around this?

The exam wasn't too bad. I am afraid of needles too and they were able to use a super tiny needle that didn't freak me out as much. I think they called it a butterfly needle. You should ask for one of those.

I just had blood work done by my doctor a few months ago. Can the insurance company use those results instead?

Do I have to pay for the exam? I just had a physical a few weeks back, can I give those results to the insurance company instead?

You are not billed for the exam. The insurance company you are applying with will pay for it, even if you don't accept the policy. Unfortunately, you will have to take an exam, your physical from your doctor will not be accepted.

The exam really doesn't take that long. If you have your doctor's information available that will help too because if you've been to your doctor for anything, the examiner is going to have to write down the reason and also the doctor's address so if you want to save time, just have all of that information with you.
