My grandmother had a stroke 6 months ago and has lost all of her ability to write. Would I be able to take out an insurance policy on her even though she isn't able to sign her name? Could my aunt, since she has become the legal guardian over her for financial reasons? Please help me out here. cry

I'm sorry Roxy. That is horrible. Unfortunately, insurance companies want to have a valid signature for anyone that applies. If a person is mentally challenged and unable to understand what is being done, then the company doesn't want to get involved for certain legal reasons. They don't want to get involved in any shady events that could result from them issuing a policy to a client who couldn't even sign for it nor comprehend it for that matter. Depending upon her situation, she might qualify for other types of insurance instead of term life insurance. There is always hope. Best wishes to you.
