The insurance company won't give you preferred or super preferred for foreign travel to India since you plan on going every 3-4 years for over a month at a time. On applications, the company usually asks if you intend to travel within the next 5 years and if you were to lie about that and they find out, your policy would become void. I don't think that the company's think that the US is safer than India. They just aren't comfortable with insuring someone that travels that far as often as you do. A lot of things can happen when you are away from home (not saying that staying in town is always safer, but you get my point) like plane crashes, crime, etc. Florida is the only state in which life insurance companies cannot ask about foreign travel. If you don't live in FL, then there is nothing you can really do. At least they didn't decline you. Maybe more expensive insurance is better than none at all.
