Talking While Driving  Against The Law

Should more states implement the law to ban talking on cell phones while driving? Insurance rates might be reduced due to less distractions causing accidents and injuries to motorists. We all might benefit from this kind of legislation.

I think we should eliminate more distractions than just cell phones. I have seen people nearly plow into the car in front of them while eating, reading, applying makeup, and messing with the radio. Of course, we cannot develop laws to target every kind of distraction motorists encounter, but I think reducing cell phone use while driving will be a step in the right direction. Cell phones should only be used in case of an emergency not for chatting it up on the road.

I think cellphones should be illegal to use while driving in all states. I see kids driving and doing the text messaging all the time, they swerve and don't go when it is green. People complain about older drivers, but if you ask me it is the kids we should worry about!

If it were illegal then also should be eating while driving, smoking while driving, putting on makeup, etc...

Research has shown that texting or talking on the cell while driving has the same danger as driving while drunk. It should be prohibited. And handless earpieces are no better, the driver still is not paying attention to the road.
