
What do teenage drivers want most in 2008? A new car? A video iPod? More cell minutes for texting (while driving)? Apparently none of these made the list (must have been multiple choice). According to a recent survey by Allstate Insurance Company, what teens want most in 2008 is for friends to be safer on the roads. While 90 percent listed their friends' safety as a wish for 2008, only 11 percent said driving more safely was one of their own resolutions.

That last one should be enough to scare anyone. Numbers like these won't help reduce auto insurance premiums for teenagers anytime soon. But at least two-thirds of teens surveyed said they want their friends to stop using cell phones, PDA's and MP3 players while driving. That's a start.
