Standard & Poor's rating service has recently upgraded John Hancock Life Insurance Company's financial strength rating to AAA, which is the highest of 21 ratings offered by the company. Ratings are established by a thorough review process with the life insurance company that includes extensive management interviews as well as financial statement analysis.
