QuickQuote Ranked #1 for “Customer Service” and “Web Site Resources”

October 1999

The following press release includes information about content, features, products, partnerships or other company news pertaining to QuickQuote Financial, Inc. or the QuickQuote.com Web site as of the date of the press release. Such information may or may not be currently applicable to QuickQuote Financial, Inc. or the QuickQuote.com Web site.

The QuickQuote.com insurance Web site recently earned top scores for its Customer Service and Web-Site Resources in a ranking by SmartMoney.com, the financial services portal affiliated with Smart Money, The Wall Street Journal Magazine of Personal Business. The portal reviewed 10 of the Internet’s leading online insurance brokers (i.e. InsWeb, Quicken InsureMarket and ITECH) with the results currently published on its Web site under the headings Planning: Life Insurance: Applying Online: Ranking the Online Life Insurance Brokers.

For Customer Service, QuickQuote earned the top score of 10.0. SmartMoney.com indicated that a Web site needed to provide a bit of handholding for customers who wanted it in order to score well in this category. Their online review states, We didn’t like sites that dropped consumers off at the insurance company’s doorstep after giving them a few quick quotes. We also wanted a site that asked specific health questions on its online form, rather than just the standard, ‘Do you smoke?’ That way quotes you have stand a better chance of qualifying for the quotes you actually receive

For Web-Site Resources, QuickQuote earned the top score of 8.75. To score well in this category, SmartMoney.com indicated a site needed to provide educational sections on life insurance (i.e. definitions, news articles and frequently asked questions), SmartMoney.com also considered the amount and type of insurance company information included on the sites, as well as, how good were their life insurance needs calculators before ranking the Web sites.

QuickQuote President Daniel P. Wager said, Our full-service agency has proven its value in this review of online insurance brokers. We provide our customers as much service and information as they desire throughout the insurance application and underwriting process. This has been our goal since we began QuickQuote in 1995.

In its overall rankings, SmartMoney, com gave QuickQuote a score of 9.01, or second out of 10. The online review of QuickQuote indicates its breadth of coverage could be improved by adding more insurance companies to its quotation database. QuickQuote is currently contracted to sell insurance products for more than 35 companies.

QuickQuote Financial Inc.. based in northern Nevada, is a pioneer in the Internet-based marketing and distribution of life insurance and annuity products. It’s QuickQuote Web site was the Internet’s first, interactive insurance comparison and purchasing service in 1995.
