John Hancock Life Insurance Company was the top U.S. life insurance company in total individual life insurance sales in 2006, according to LIMRA International. The company’s sales topped out at $735 million in total annualized premium. This represented a growth rate of nearly 20% over 2005, while the industry average was around 6.6%.
It’s important to note these figures are for total life insurance sales. John Hancock’s two principal products are universal life insurance and variable life insurance.
